About This SiteKirsle Throwback is my “new old” retro home page for retro computers. On this site, I will gather cool links and software downloads for fans of “Retro Computers” which run old, historic operating systems such as Windows 3.1 through Windows 98, with maybe a few things for Windows 95 or Windows XP mixed in as well. This website was created in 2026 but is written using old-school HTML and tested for compatibility with historic web browsers including Internet Explorer 5.0 and Netscape Navigator 3.4, so this website will be accessible even to operating systems going back as far as Windows for Workgroups 3.11! For modern browsers (and mobile devices), I have added a tiny amount of JavaScript to make the website not terrible to look at on mobile. Old-school table-based layouts aren’t very mobile friendly, so for modern computers the left navigation panel will be collapsed and a menu button appears that can toggle it open or closed. I had gotten my first computer when I was 5 years old, and it was an old Tandy PC that ran MS-DOS and Windows 3.1. From there, I grew up with these kinds of older PCs, at various points owning one that ran Windows 95 and then Windows 98, followed by Windows 2000 and XP. I had also first gotten onto the Internet around the year 1999 when I was about 12 years old.
